Sources at court in Mumbai said that Urmila has applied to the court for divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar, while the reason for the separation is not yet known.

They added that the divorce between Urmila and Mohsin Akhtar is not taking place by mutual consent, but this decision is the actress’s alone.

Reports said that Urmila wants to focus on her work after divorcing her husband. She wants to return to films, while these two have been living separately for a long time.

It should be noted that Urmila Matondkar and Mohsin Akhtar got married in February 2016 and the fans including the Bollywood industry were quite surprised at this marriage because both of them had different religions as Akhtar belongs to Occupied Kashmir.

Mohsin Akhtar is 10 years younger than his wife Urmila. He is a Kashmiri businessman and model by profession. They first met in 2014 at designer Manish Malhotra’s niece’s wedding.
