Will it rain in Karachi today?

With monsoon is just around the corner, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light drizzle for overcast Karachi today (Thursday).

According to the weather department, the monsoon rains will enter Sindh from Friday evening, with showers expected in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Jacobabad between July 6 and 7.

However, as for Karachi, PMD said, it won’t be receiving heavy showers for a couple of days.

Despite the forecasted drizzle, Karachi’s weather is expected to remain hot and humid over the next three days

Temperatures in the city will reaming between 34°C and 36°C.

Currently, a sea breeze with wind speeds of 12 to 14 kilometres per hour is blowing through the city, and the lowest temperature recorded in the last 24 hours was 30.5°C.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz earlier indicated that the city might see more significant rainfall after July 8.
