Urgent Search Underway for Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother Nancy Guthrie Amid Safety Concerns

Authorities have launched an urgent search for Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of NBC “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, after she was reported missing from her home in the Catalina Foothills under concerning circumstances.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her residence near Skyline and Campbell around 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 31. Family members called 911 the following day when she could not be located. Search teams are currently combing the area by land and air. Homicide detectives are also involved, investigating unusual findings at her home, though there is no confirmation of foul play.

Sheriff Nanos emphasized the urgency of the search, noting Nancy’s age and mobility limitations, calling her a “vulnerable adult” who could be at risk in cold weather. “We’ve pretty much thrown everything at this as we can,” he said.

Nancy Guthrie is described as 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact 911 immediately.
