US Central Command Reports Nearly 400 Troops Wounded in Iranian Reprisal Strikes During West Asia Conflict

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has released updated figures on casualties following recent military confrontations involving the United States and Iran.

According to CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins, at least 399 US service members were wounded during operations linked to the conflict that began on February 28 and concluded with a ceasefire on April 7.

Hawkins stated that three US troops suffered serious injuries during large-scale Iranian retaliatory strikes targeting American military bases across the region.

This updated figure reflects an increase of 51 injuries compared to previous reports, which had recorded 348 wounded personnel. Officials noted that while some of the injured have returned to duty after medical treatment, the status of others remains undisclosed.

Iran’s retaliatory operations also reportedly resulted in the deaths of 13 US service members, according to military sources.

Experts believe the actual casualty figures may be higher, as Iranian strikes reportedly expanded across multiple locations in West Asia and the Persian Gulf, intensifying the scale of the confrontation.

The conflict has also imposed significant financial costs on the United States. Data from the Iran War Cost Tracker indicates that total expenses related to the operation have approached approximately $52 billion.

This figure is comparable to the annual health insurance costs for more than 1.5 million American families, highlighting the economic impact of the ongoing tensions.
