Donald Trump Praises Pakistan’s Leadership for Diplomacy and Peace Efforts

US President Donald Trump has once again praised Pakistan’s top leadership, calling the country “great” and describing its leaders as “excellent” during a recent media interaction.

Trump specifically referred to Pakistan’s prime minister and field marshal as “outstanding personalities,” highlighting their role in diplomatic efforts related to regional peace and stability.

The US president also stated that “Project Freedom” was suspended after discussions with Pakistan’s leadership. According to Trump, Pakistani officials encouraged restraint during negotiations and requested that military actions be paused while diplomatic efforts continued.

Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has recently gained international attention for its reported mediation role between Iran and the United States aimed at easing tensions and promoting dialogue.

This is not the first time Trump has publicly commended Pakistan’s leadership. During the ASEAN Summit 2025 held in Kuala Lumpur, he praised Pakistan’s field marshal as a “good man” and referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a “great leader.”

At the summit, Trump also mentioned reports of possible tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan but said the Pakistani leadership handled the matter quickly and peacefully.

“I am a proponent of peace across the world,” President Donald Trump said during his remarks.

He added, “I stopped wars through trade,” emphasizing that the United States supports economic cooperation over military conflict.

“I like stopping wars,” Trump remarked, reiterating his belief that trade and diplomacy are essential for achieving long-term global peace.
