KABUL: Armed resistance against the Afghan Taliban regime is reportedly increasing as anti-Taliban groups continue their activities in different parts of Afghanistan.
According to Afghanistan International, the resistance group Afghanistan Green Trend claimed responsibility for an attack on a Taliban military recruitment center in Ferozkoh, the capital of Ghor province.
The group said it targeted a Taliban military facility with explosives. A video of the attack was also released online by the organization.
The movement is led by former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh. In a message shared on X, the group said its armed operations would continue until the end of Taliban rule and the “full freedom” of Afghanistan.
Reports said the group has increased its attacks in recent weeks and had also carried out operations against Taliban members on April 21.
Some international analysts believe that growing guerrilla attacks, internal unrest, and Afghanistan’s economic crisis are increasing pressure on the Taliban government.
Analysts also say that some armed resistance groups claim they are continuing their struggle against the Taliban with support from local communities.
