Oman suspends oil loading after drone attack
MUSCAT: Oman has temporarily suspended crude oil loading operations at its key Mina al-Fahal terminal following a suspected drone attack and an explosion near the port area.
According to Reuters, the Sultanate of Oman halted all oil loading activities at the important terminal after a mysterious blast occurred near the single buoy mooring berth.
The explosion reportedly took place between Berth 1 and Berth 2, raising concerns about security at one of the country’s major oil export facilities.
Sources said the incident may have been caused by a drone attack. However, these claims have not been independently confirmed, and no group has taken responsibility for the incident so far.
Omani security forces have sealed off the area and launched an investigation to determine the exact nature of the explosion and assess any possible damage. Authorities said further updates will be shared once the investigation progresses.
