Iran Announces Closure of Strait of Hormuz Amid Regional Tensions

(Breaking News) Iran’s central military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all maritime traffic, citing what it described as violations by the United States and Israel of agreements reached following recent regional hostilities.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the headquarters said the decision was taken in response to what it called an “explicit breach” of the first clause of a post-war memorandum of understanding by the United States, as well as alleged continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.
