Zelenskyy Warns Belarus to Remove Relay Stations or Face Ukrainian Action

22 June, 2026 13:34

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has intensified pressure on Belarus, demanding that Minsk dismantle communication relay stations that Kyiv alleges are being used by Russia to coordinate drone strikes against Ukraine. Zelenskyy said Belarus has one week to remove the equipment and demonstrate that it is not supporting Russian military operations, warning that Ukraine may take action against the sites if they remain active.

Ukrainian officials claim that several relay stations located in Belarus’s border regions are assisting Russian forces in conducting attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian targets. Belarus, a key Russian ally, has denied direct participation in the war, while President Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that his country does not seek a deeper role in the conflict.

The warning follows a recent drone attack involving a bus carrying Belarusian children in Russia. Belarusian and Russian authorities accused Ukraine of carrying out the strike, while Kyiv rejected the allegations. Lukashenko subsequently demanded an explanation from Ukraine and warned that any efforts to draw Belarus into the conflict would come at a heavy cost.
