Iran offers joint security system for Gulf countries
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has offered Gulf countries the idea of creating a joint regional security system. He said that regional countries should decide their own security arrangements without outside interference.
He suggested that the new system should also include economic cooperation. According to him, foreign military powers should not be part of the regional security structure. He said that if Gulf countries work together, they can become more united and reduce the need for help from outside powers like the United States.
Araghchi also said that Iran is responsible for restoring maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and warned that interference from any other side could make the situation more complicated.
He added that Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon and stopping its attacks are an important part of a temporary agreement with the United States. He said any violation of the agreement would be met with a strong response.
The Iranian foreign minister said Iran wants to fully implement the agreement in good faith, but accused the US and Israel of breaking its terms. He stressed that all countries in the region must work together to ensure long-term peace and security.
