Iran and Qatar Hold High-Level Talks on Islamabad MoU Implementation

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has held a high-level meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The talks focused on advancing bilateral cooperation and addressing obstacles affecting the agreement’s execution.

Gharibabadi, who led a delegation including officials from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Central Bank, and Ministry of Agriculture, arrived in Doha to discuss practical steps for implementing the MoU. Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Ali Salehabadi and Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Hamid Ghanbari also attended the meeting.

Speaking to reporters after the discussions, Gharibabadi said that working groups have been formed to monitor the implementation process and to negotiate a final agreement. He added that both sides remain committed to ensuring progress on the understandings reached under the MoU framework.
