Iranian Army Chief Calls for Massive Turnout at Funeral Ceremony

The Chief of the Iranian Army has urged citizens to participate in what he described as a “historic and epic” farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He said the Iranian nation would never surrender to its enemies and would remain united despite external pressure.
In a statement, Major General Amir Hatami described the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei as a major tragedy for the Iranian people, the wider Muslim world, and supporters of what he termed global resistance. He said the act was carried out by the United States and Israel, whom he accused of attempting to weaken Iran’s resolve.
Hatami said that Iran’s adversaries had miscalculated by believing such actions would fracture national unity. Instead, he said, the country had emerged more determined and cohesive. He also praised the late leader for what he called a lifelong example of courage, insight, and steadfast resistance against global pressure.
