Lebanese Lawmaker Accuses Israel of Ceasefire Violations Amid Government Criticism

BEIRUT: Lebanese lawmaker Ali Ammar has accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement, criticizing what he described as the Lebanese government’s “silence” and lack of action in response to ongoing tensions along the southern border.
Speaking on Sunday, Ammar claimed that Israeli forces have continued military operations including strikes, destruction of homes, and the burning of agricultural land. He also alleged that these actions have taken place despite the existing ceasefire framework, urging Beirut to adopt a firmer stance.
The lawmaker further commented on remarks attributed to Israeli military leadership, including Eyal Zamir, saying such statements reflected an attempt to exert pressure on Lebanon. The situation comes amid continued friction between Israel and Lebanon along the southern border.
