PMU Calls on Iraqis to Join Funeral Gatherings for Ayatollah Khamenei in Karbala and Najaf

The Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Sha’abi, have called on Iraqis to participate in large numbers in the funeral ceremonies of Martyred Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, scheduled for July 8 in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf. The appeal was made through a video message released by the group.

In its statement, the PMU paid tribute to Ayatollah Khamenei, describing him in highly reverential terms and urging citizens to attend what it called a historic event. The message encouraged public participation in the ceremonies as a collective expression of mourning and respect.

The group further urged Iraqis not to miss the occasion, framing it as an important moment of national and religious significance. It called for widespread attendance at the funeral processions taking place in the two holy cities.
