Iranian Army Chief Says Defense Capabilities Have Strengthened Deterrence

Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami has said the country’s domestically developed defense capabilities have strengthened its deterrence and forced adversaries to reconsider their calculations. In a message to Acting Defense Minister Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ibn Reza ahead of National Defense Industry Day, Hatami praised Iranian scientists and specialists for developing and upgrading a wide range of military equipment and systems.
Hatami said the Defense Ministry and Armed Forces Logistics has played an effective role in strengthening Iran’s defense capabilities, noting that a significant portion of the country’s defense achievements has demonstrated its effectiveness during recent conflicts. He said the close integration of the armed forces’ combat capabilities with the defense industry had demonstrated Iran’s national power, resilience and defensive strength, ultimately compelling its adversaries to reconsider their positions and accept a political solution.
The army chief stressed that cooperation between the Iranian Army and Defense Ministry would continue to meet the country’s defense needs, upgrade military equipment, transfer expertise and utilize domestic scientific and industrial capabilities. Paying tribute to personnel of the Defense Ministry who were killed in the line of duty, Hatami declared that Iran would “never surrender,” saying a nation that builds its own defensive shield to preserve its dignity and independence would ultimately emerge victorious.
