Israel Allegedly Providing Covert Support to Sudan’s RSF

The Israeli regime has reportedly been providing covert intelligence and military assistance to Sudan’s UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to a report by Africa Intelligence. The report says senior RSF figures have maintained secret, high-level military contacts with Israeli officials since before the outbreak of Sudan’s devastating war in 2023.

Sudanese Army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as Hemedti, have been locked in a deadly struggle for power since April 2023. Hemedti, who previously served as Burhan’s deputy, reportedly made secret visits to Tel Aviv in May 2025 and February 2026, where he held meetings with officials from the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s Africa Division as well as Israeli officers linked to intelligence agencies.

According to the report, Hemedti was accompanied on both visits by his brothers Abdul Rahim and Algoney. Abdul Rahim serves as the RSF’s second-in-command. Earlier reports of alleged links between the RSF leadership and Israel emerged in 2022, while Haaretz and Dutch investigative outlet Lighthouse previously reported that a private jet had delivered sophisticated, European-made phone-surveillance and hacking equipment to the RSF. The aircraft was reportedly connected to former Israeli intelligence officer Tal Dilian, founder of the Cyprus-based Intellexa network.
