New Ordinance to ensure uninterrupted supply of items of daily use to be promulgated shortly.

Federal cabinet was briefed on the proposed Ordinance.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said this while talking to the media.

She briefed the media on Federal Cabinet meeting held in Islamabad today.

Awan said the government is bringing an Ordinance in order to control inflation in the country.

The Ordinance also aims to ensure uninterrupted supply of items of daily use.

Meanwhile, the cabinet members recommended strict punishments in the proposed legislation against hoarders and smugglers.

Awan said the Prime Minister will take the nation into confidence by laying out a roadmap for future after consultation with all key stakeholders.

However, Federal Cabinet also eviewed and discussed various important issues.

Cabinet was briefed about the proposed legislation to provide facilitation to construction sector.

Meanwhile, cabinet congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Sania Nishtar and Ehsaas team in disbursement of cash to needy and eligible persons under its emergency cash relief program.

The Prime Minister said Ehsaas program has begun on merit and transparency to give eligible persons their due right.

He appreciated the performance of provincial governments and district administration in the dispensation of Ehsaas project.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said provinces are playing a crucial role in implementation of this program on merit and transparency.

She said focal persons are being appointed for smooth working of the program.

Prime Minister reiterated the resolve to provide maximum facilitation to people as well as making efforts to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Earlier, in a tweet, she had said that government is extending financial assistance under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program among deserving families.
