Minister Zubeda Jalal and FM Qureshi discuss economic diplomacy and defence production.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal held a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday.

They exchanged views on government strategy and measures to combat impact of coronavirus pandemic.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the entire world is facing an extra ordinary situation in wake of Corona pandemic.

He said the world is heading towards possible economic crisis and such a situation is a matter of grave concern for developing economies like Pakistan.

During the meeting, both of them exchanged views exchanged views on economic diplomacy and defence production.

While appreciating Prime Minister Imran Khan’s call for Global Debt Relief to support weak economies, both the ministers termed it imperative in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

Minister for Defence Production congratulated the Foreign Minister for highlighting Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir on international forums.

Meanwhile, 40 died of Coronavirus infection during last 24 hours as death toll rose 526.

According to official sources, 1049 new cases of coronavirus in Pakistan reported during past 24 hours

The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country now stood at 22,550.

Of these, 8,189 cases reported in Sindh, 8,420 in Punjab, 3,499 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1,495 in Balochistan.

Moreover, 485 cases reported in Islamabad Capital Territory 386 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 76 in Azad Kashmir.

Meanwhile, over six thousand and two hundred patients have recovered from the virus.
