Minister vows to protect rights of minorities and respect Ulema opinion on key issues.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said, while addressing Paigham-e-Aman Conference, in Islamabad.

He said the government would protect the rights of minorities and respect the opinion of Ulema and religious scholars on vital issues.

The minister urged Ulema to forge unity among their ranks for frustrating conspiracies of anti-state elements.

Meanwhile he announced more seminars and conferences across the country for promoting interfaith harmony.

He said the enemies of Pakistan want to fan sectarianism in the country but their nefarious designs would be foiled.

Recently, some elements have tried to fan religious and sectarian tension, while minister gave a timely response to them.

In the past, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri had said credit for peace and promotion of Islam goes to Muslim saints.

According to him, the atmosphere of peace in the Islamic countries of South Asia and promotion of Islam became possible due to Sufis and Saints.

Pakistan has suffered from religious and sectarian extremism and violent extremism.

Let alone civilians, extremists and fanatics turned into terrorists and also attacked military officials and installations.
