NCOC briefs CM Balochistan on Covid19 while WHO lauds control in Pakistan.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Friday briefed Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan in detail on overall disease prevalence and specific issues pertaining to Balochistan.

The Chief Minister paid his maiden visit to NCOC in Islamabad on Friday.

NCOC apprised CM Balochistan that to assist in enhancing available testing capacity additional testing labs would be established in three districts of Balochistan.

The CM said: “Balochistan will further increase the testing for disease containment.”

Moreover, CM appreciated the efforts of NCOC and integrated efforts of federation and all federating units.

Meanwhile, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Pakistan, Dr Palitha Mahipala on Friday lauded the government of Pakistan for strategically and efficiently curtailing the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

He hailed Pakistan over becoming an example in the Eastern Mediterranean region for other countries to follow.

Dr Mahipala said this, while addressing the ceremony held here in connection with World Patient Safety Day at WHO Country Office.

WHO pays tributes to Pakistan

He paid glowing tribute to the healthcare workers who take care of patients despite being exposed to numerous infections.

Furthermore, he said your safety starts with you, take care of your physical and mental health.

He stressed the need for organizational leadership capacity, data to drive safety improvements, skilled health care professionals and effective involvement of patients in their care said that in addition to this clear policies.

The WHO official underscored all these needed to ensure sustainable and significant improvements in the safety of health care.
