Pakistan and Argentina holds fourth round of bilateral political consultations via video link.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Faisal Niaz Tirmizi represented Pakistan in the talks.

Both sides discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and multilateral matters of mutual interest.

Tirmizi said the two countries enjoy cordial relationship based on mutual respect and understanding.

He underlined the need to mark the completion of 70 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in a befitting manner.

The Additional Secretary also emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral trade between Pakistan and Argentina.

He proposed increasing interaction at multiple levels and holding of virtual meeting of the Joint Trade Committee in the first quarter of 2021.

Moreover, Tirmizi expressed desire to reactivate Pakistan’s Antarctic Programme.

He called for undertaking more research expeditions to Antarctica by the Pakistani experts with the collaboration of Argentina.

The Additional Secretary highlighted the plight of the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

He underlined that India continued to unleash a reign of terror in the IIOJK even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
