International Human Rights Day being observed

This year the world is celebrating the day under the theme ‘Recover Better-Stand up for Human Rights.’

It aims to push international community for transformative action in a post COVID-19 world.

The UN noted 10 December as an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the world we want.

Moreover, it stressed the need for global solidarity as well as our interconnectedness and shared humanity.

Meanwhile, under UN Human Rights’ generic call to action “Stand Up for Human rights” the UN aim to engage the general public, our partners and the UN family to bolster transformative action.

Besides, UN wants to showcase practical and inspirational examples that can contribute to recovering better and fostering more resilient and just societies.

Observance of the HR Day calls for ensuring human rights at the center of the recovery efforts.

The martyrdoms also included 7,155 deaths in custody.

Furthermore, the report revealed that these killings rendered 22,924 women widowed.

Such martyrdoms left 107,811 children orphaned.

Indian troops also damaged 110,375 residential houses and other structures.

Moreover,  the report pointed out that 295 Kashmiris have embraced martyrdom since 5th August 2019.

Since repeal of special status of IIOJ&K, Narendra Modi-led fascist government of India also put IOJK under military siege.
