PM asks NCC on SMES for promoting small and medium enterprises to improve the economic indicators.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed this, while chairing a meeting of National Coordination Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises in Islamabad on Thursday.

He stressed for promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to improve the economic indicators.

However, he also noted economic indicators already remain on positive trajectory.

The Prime Minister directed to achieve at the earliest the targets set for the promotion of SMEs.

He further noted the SMEs as an important component of economy.

Therefore, he said their promotion will strengthen economy and create job opportunities.

Officials concerned informed the meeting to updating the database of the SMEs on priority basis.

That aims to extend timely facilities to them.

Furthermore, they informed about simplifying the tax form of the SMEs for them.

Meanwhile, relevant officials also informed the meeting regarding the process of consultations with all the stakeholders.

Government continues consult them to extend financial assistance to the small and medium enterprises.

In this regard, the government is planning to establish SMEs fund.

Moreover, the government is also restructuring  Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to further enhance its capacity.

Houses to the poor and middle class

Meanwhile, the PM underlined providing houses to the poor and middle class amongst the priorities of the government.

He said so, while speaking after inaugurating housing flats in Jalozai, Nowshera on Wednesday.

He announced launching projects in this regard across the country.

On the occasion, the authorities concerned informed the PM about Jalozai housing project and the amenities provided in it.

Furthermore, they also informed initiating housing projects in other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They include: Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Charsadda and Hangu.

Moreover, they informed preparing about 30,788 units in the next six months.
