Besides, the active cases of COVID-19 stood at 34,986 across the country.

As many as 475,228 patients stand recovered from the pandemic all over Pakistan.

Meanwhile, government has approved purchasing of coronavirus vaccine and it would be available in March.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar said, while talking to a private television channel.

The NCOC head further said the government has given approval of AstraZeneca vaccine.

However, the government also continues discussion with a Chinese company, “Sinopharm.

He said the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has given green signal for importing the vaccine to protect the masses from corona virus.

Moreover, he said that the government would give priority in provision of vaccine to health workers.

Besides, the government would give priority to the people falling between 60 to 65 year of age.

Asad Umar said around three hundred thousand healthcare workers have been imparted training for anti-corona vaccination.

While answering a question, the Minister said private sector can import the vaccine after following the necessary procedure.
