According to health ministry spokeswoman Meeran Yousuf, 73 people have died.

However, they could hardly establish identity of 17 of the bodies so far.

Victims burnt or suffered extreme burn wounds; hence, medico-legal section and other concerned staff is trying level best for identification of the victims.

Officials conference said they were conducting DNA tests.

The plane was carrying nearly a hundred people, including passengers and crew.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight crashed near Karachi’s Model Colony area.

The flight PK-8303 had taken off from Lahore to Karachi.

Unfortunately, a technical fault led to crash minutes prior to landing at Jinnah International airport.

Meanwhile,Pakistan Army also dispatched Pak Army Aviation helicopters for damage assessment and rescue efforts.

According to DG ISPR’s tweet, they were sending Urban Search & Rescue Teams on site for rescue efforts.

The plane crashed in Karachi near the airport.

Army Quick Reaction Force and Pakistan Rangers Sindh troops have reached the incident site.

They are conducting relief and rescue efforts alongside civil administration.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz has said the government is fully focusing on relief and rescue operations in PIA aircraft crash incident.

Furthermore, he said it is a tragic and sad incident before Eid.

All prays of Prime Minister Iman Khan and his government are with the passengers, crew members, and their families.

Iran President sent condolence message over PIA plane crash to PM Imran Khan.

President Dr Hassan Rouhani of Iran expressed sympathy with the victims’ heirs, Pakistani nation and the government.

He also expressed sorrow and grief over loss of lives in the crash.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi sympathized with the Pakistani government and people over the deadly air crash in that country.
