Minister warns after 140 pc increase in Covid19 mortality rate last week.

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has warned of serious consequences of not adhering to COVID related SOPs.

He issued this alert in a tweet on Tuesday. He recalled daily COVID mortality remained twelve last week.

Asad Umar noted it as a one hundred and forty percent increase when compared with previous weeks.

He said we are collectively committing a blunder by recklessly ignoring all the Standard Operating Procedures and the results have started to show.

The minister said if we do not change our current path, we will lose both lives and livelihoods.

According to the latest update from the National command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 625 more people tested positive for the deadly virus during the last 24 hours.

NCOC recorded total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan on Tuesday stood at 9,461.

Meanwhile, 14 corona patients passed away. Among them, 12 had remained under treatment in hospital, while two died out of hospital on Monday.

No COVID affected person reported on ventilator in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Balochistan.

However, 80 ventilators elsewhere in Pakistan, out of 1,884 allocated for COVID-19 patients, remained occupied with patients.
