The second day of the training at the Kakul Academy in Abbottabad began with a prescribed two-kilometer run.

With surprise for everyone, when rookie batter Irfan Khan Niazi completed the distance in 6 minutes and 47 seconds, almost two minutes better than Mohammad Rizwan, who completed the same distance in 8 minutes and 26 seconds.

Azam Khan struggled in completing the task as he only managed to run one and a half kilometers before stopping. His completion time for this distance was 20 minutes.

Other notable performances include: Mohammad Haris, Naseem Shah, Haseebullah, and Mohammad Wasim Junior completed it in 8 minutes and 27 seconds.

Mehran Mumtaz finished in 8 minutes and 30 seconds, Shaheen Shah Afridi in 8 minutes and 37 seconds, Agha Salman in 9 minutes and 20 seconds, Mohammad Amir in 9 minutes and 30 seconds, Shadab Khan in 9 minutes and 56 seconds, and Mohammad Nawaz in 9 minutes and 57 seconds.

Imad Wasim, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf didn’t participate in the drill due to injury concerns.

All-rounder Imad was absent after suffering a potential knee injury. Similarly, Fakhar and Haris refrained from the test as they are still recovering from injuries sustained during the recently concluded ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Moreover, Babar Azam is expected to join the camp today (Thursday) after returning from Saudi Arabia.
