Mohammad Amir set to make Pakistan comeback

Pacer Mohammad Amir is set to make comeback in Pakistan squad for the first time after four years during the New Zealand T20Is.

The pacer retired from international cricket in 2020 after rift with the then team management.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while speaking to media in Lahore revealed that the Green Shirts’ squad for the upcoming home will be announced on April 9.

Both Imad Wasim, and Amir are set to be included in the 18-member squad. Apart from them Usman Khan is also expected to be included in the squad.

The T20I squad members will report in Islamabad on April 14.

Other players likely to make the team include Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, Agha Salman, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Abbas Afridi.

Abrar Ahmed is also among the favourites to make it to the cut, while Haris Rauf is unlikely for to be part of the series due to ongoing shoulder injury.

The upcoming T20I series will commence on April 18, where both teams will play five T20Is. First-three matches be played in Rawalpindi, whereas the remaining two matches will be played in Lahore with the series culminating on April 27.
