10 May, 2024 10:48

Citizens in Karachi can now apply for and collect passports even late at night.

At the Regional Passport Office at Awami Markaz, citizens were present to get their passports even late at night.

The Awami Markaz Regional Passport Office will now be open 24 hours a day where citizens can visit any time of the week to get a passport.

However, the passport fee can be deposited either in bank timings or online at any time.

It should be noted that Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had announced to keep the passport office open 24 hours on the occasion of his visit to Karachi a few days ago.

Earlier, the fee for the fast-track category of passports has been revised significantly.

For a 36-page Machine Readable (MR) passport with a validity period of five years will now cost Rs12,500. Similarly, the fee for a 72-page passport for five years will now stand at Rs18,500, while the fee for a 100-page passport will be Rs23,000.

Moreover, the fees for 36, 72, and 100-page MR passports with a validity period of 10 years have also been increased. They will now cost Rs25,200, Rs32,000, and Rs16,200, respectively.

These fee revisions come as part of the government’s efforts to streamline passport issuance processes and ensure efficient service delivery to citizens.
