Why is Kaaba kiswa raised 3-meter above ground?

The administration of Haramain Sharifeen has raised the Kaaba kiswa three meters above the ground before the arrival of Hajj.
The purpose of raising the cover of the Kaaba is to protect the cover from any damage during Hajj.
In the past, pilgrims used to touch the cover of the Kaaba and cut pieces of it as a blessing, which damaged the cover.
The kiswa was previously raised on the first day of Dhu Al-Hijjah as an announcement of the advent of the rite and an indication of the beginning of the holy days.
