PTI founder, Qureshi acquitted in 2 vandalism cases

A district and sessions court has acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in two cases regarding the long march vandalism.

Judicial Magistrate Ehtesham Alam admitted the acquittal petitions filed by Imran Khan and Qureshi.

Meanwhile, Ali Muhammad Khan, Murad Saeed and Asad Umar were also acquitted in both the cases.

Asad Umar and Ali Muhammad Khan appeared before the court and marked their attendance in the cases filed with the Golra Police Station.

Earlier, the PTI founder and other leaders were acquitted in similar cases registered with the Kohsar and Karachi Company police stations for violation of Section 144. Other PTI leaders who were acquitted on May 20 included Faisal Javed, Zartaj Gul, Ali Nawaz Awan, Qasim Suri, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari, Saifullah Niazi, Asad Umar and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.

A district and sessions court of Islamabad had also acquitted Imran Khan in two cases related to the May 9 riots on May 30.
