7.6 Million Registrations Completed Under PM’s Fuel Relief Scheme

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy after returning from New York.

The meeting reviewed progress on the Prime Minister’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme, including registration, token redemption, payments and complaint management.

The committee was informed that around 7.6 million registrations have been successfully completed so far, while the token redemption process has entered its second week. A total of 7.71 million tokens have been redeemed to date.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the progress of the scheme and highlighted the “whole of Government” approach involving the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Petroleum, OGRA, State Bank of Pakistan and the provinces.

He stressed the need for continued coordination to facilitate beneficiaries and ensure smooth service delivery across the country.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, federal and provincial secretaries, and officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, OGRA, NITB and PDA.
