Rasheed urges COAS to offer general amnesty to prisoners

Former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed has demanded of Army Chief General Asim Munir to grant general amnesty to prisoners on the coming Eidul Azha.
Speaking to media outside the Islamabad court today, the former minister said that the courts have become small and the number of innocent accused is high. 80 to 90 per cent of people are innocent. There are poor people in Adiala and 500 people appear in this summer. I appeal for the release of Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed, the Awami Muslim League chief demanded.
He said that the respect of the army is dear to us, but what message is being sent to the people. It’s my request offer amnesty to prisoners on the coming Eidul Azha, the former interior minister said.
Sheikh Rasheed said that he appeals to Army Chief General Asim Munir and DG ISI Nadeem Anjum to grant amnesty on this Eid.
Sheikh Rasheed, while making a political prediction, said that the next 45 days are important as people are tense. There will be political decisions in the country now. When the local investors are going out of the country, how will foreign investors come from abroad, he questioned.
Rasheed further said that the Pakistan should be saved from crisis as the country is on the verge of destruction. The situation has become so bad that funerals are being looted in Rawalpindi, he added.
He asked the PTI founder to appreciate ILF as well, adding time is running out of hands. June is an important month as political decisions will be made in the country now, he reiterated.
