WhatsApp finally introduces long-awaited feature
WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has begun rolling out a highly anticipated feature to its Android beta users – voice message transcription.
This exciting feature allows users to read the content of a voice message in text form, making it easier to understand and reference later.
First spotted by WABetaInfo, the voice message transcription feature is available in the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android v2.24.15.5, but only for a limited number of users.
The feature requires users to download a language pack, which enables the app to transcribe the voice message into text.
Currently, the feature supports five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi.

The feature bears a resemblance to Google’s implementation of voice message transcriptions in their Messages app.
However, WhatsApp ensured that voice messages remain end-to-end encrypted, and all transcription takes place on the device.
The voice message transcription feature is still in its beta phase and is not yet widely available. It may take some time before it is rolled out to all users, possibly later this year.
Despite this, the feature has generated significant interest and excitement among WhatsApp users, who are eagerly awaiting its release.
