Dollar rate in Pakistan today – August 21, 2024
USD TO PKR
Pakistani rupee (PKR) on Wednesday moved downward trend against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 278.52.
However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs 279.60 and Rs 280.30 respectively.

The Japanese yen went up by 01 paisa and closed at Rs1.90, whereas an increase of 76 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which traded at Rs 362.59 as compared to the last day’s closing of Rs 361.83.
The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal decreased by 05 paisa and 04 paisa to close at Rs 75.83 and Rs74.22 respectively.
Gold rates
On the other hand, gold prices continue to increase in Pakistan on Wednesday as it reached Rs261,000 per tola, APGJSA said.
According to data provided by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by another Rs300.
An increase of Rs257 was witnessed in the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold as it stands at Rs223,765.
The gold price remained stable at $2,512 in the international market.
The silver rates in the local market also remained stable at Rs2,950.
The previous all-time high rate of gold was reported on July 18, when the yellow metal experienced a massive rise after a two-day Ashura break.
