Watch: Pakistani pilot cleaning plane window goes viral

A video of a Pakistani pilot cleaning the window of the airplane moments before takeoff has gone viral on social media.

The video shows the pilot wiping the windscreen of the Airbus 330-200.

The incident occurred in Jeddah Saudi Arabia, with netizens questioning airline’s safety protocols and the responsibilities of the ground staff.

With several users questioning the move, and about the same number of them found it as a usual practice.

“Pilots clean windscreens all the time,” a user said, and another added, “Frankly speaking, pilots do this. Not everyone, but those who aren’t satisfied with the cleaning.”

“Quite common. If pilots wish to do it, it’s OK. They can always ask for help, but if someone wishes to do it, it should be fine,” a user said as he posted several pictures of pilots cleaning windscreens by themselves.
