Govt maintains petrol price, hikes diesel by Rs5 per litre
Petrol price to see another drop in Pakistan from Oct 1
The government has kept the price of petrol unchanged, however, it hiked the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5 per litre for the next fortnight. The hike announced in line with the global oil rates.
According to an official notification, the new prices came into effect from today (September 16).

The price of HSD increased to Rs251.29 after an hike of Rs5 per litre.
Petrol is used in transportation, small vehicles, rickshaws, and two-wheelers. Higher fuel prices impact the budgets of the members of the middle and lower-middle classes.
A significant portion, on the other hand, of the transport sector relies on high-speed diesel.
Its price is considered inflationary because it is mainly used in heavy goods transport vehicles, buses, trucks and trains. It is also used in agricultural machinery such as tractors, tube wells, and threshers.
