Qatar pledges $3bn investment in Pakistan’s economy

In a significant development for Pakistan’s economy, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced that Qatar has committed to investing $3 billion in various sectors of the country.
He revealed this during a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, where Tarar discussed the outcomes of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Tarar said that the partnership between Qatar and Pakistan will encompass a wide array of sectors, including trade, investment, culture, and the economy.
He stated that this substantial investment is expected to enhance Pakistan’s economic stability and growth, providing a much-needed boost to the nation’s development efforts.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz also expressed gratitude to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his ongoing support and cooperation.
In addition to the commitments from Qatar, Tarar shared positive news regarding Pakistan’s relationship with Saudi Arabia.
He noted a significant increase in Saudi investments, which have risen from $2.2 billion to $2.8 billion—a $600 million increase that underscores the deepening ties between the two nations.
