FBR unveils new password policy

23 December, 2024 19:43

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a new password policy to strengthen account security.

Under the updated policy, users are required to change their passwords every 60 days.

If a password is not updated, it will expire, and users must utilize the “forgot password” feature for resetting it.

In cases where credentials are lost, the process of recovery will be more challenging as users will now need to provide their mobile number and email during registration.

In a move to improve tax compliance, FBR has also launched an advanced Stock Register system as part of the Information Center 2.0 platform.

This system enables tax officers to access real-time data on registered taxpayers, ensuring more accurate tax assessments and helping to combat tax evasion.

The system centralizes tax filing histories and authorized representative profiles, allowing for better oversight and improved enforcement of income tax and sales tax regulations. This initiative aligns with FBR’s ongoing efforts to digitize and optimize tax administration.
