LHC grants protective bail to TikToker Rajab Ali Butt
The Lahore High Court (LHC) granted protective bail to TikToker Rajab Ali Butt on Tuesday, following his involvement in a controversy for playing music during prayers in Karachi.
The bail is effective until January 28.
Butt had approached the LHC seeking protection from arrest, fearing he might be detained before attending court proceedings.
The court admitted his petition, and Justice Farooq Haider ruled in his favor, granting temporary protection from arrest.
A case had previously been filed against Butt at the Hyderi Police Station in Karachi for allegedly creating content that offended religious sentiments.
The complaint accused him of violating Islamic values. Riaz Ali, the complainant’s lawyer, stated that the court had ordered the police to arrest Butt, adding that the case was intended to set an example to discourage others from disrespecting Islamic values in the future.
