Squid Game final season release date unveiled

Netflix has confirmed that the highly anticipated third and final season of Squid Game will premiere on June 27, 2025.

The announcement was made at the streaming giant’s Next on Netflix event held on Thursday. Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the survival thriller captured global attention when it premiered in 2021, becoming an instant cultural phenomenon.

The final season will bring the story of Seong Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, to a dramatic close as he attempts to bring an end to the deadly games that have captivated audiences worldwide.

A teaser shown at the event offered fans a glimpse of the high-stakes action and intense moments to come, sparking further excitement for the conclusion of the series.

The first season of Squid Game set unprecedented streaming records, with Netflix reporting that 142 million households watched the show within its debut month, making it the platform’s most-watched original at the time.

In addition to the Squid Game finale, Netflix highlighted a range of upcoming projects, including Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Ben Affleck’s RIP, and John Mulaney’s new late-night show.

Netflix also revealed a record-breaking addition of 19 million new subscribers in Q4, boosting its global total to nearly 302 million.
