Khamenei says enemy’s soft war failed to dampen nation’s resolve

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the enemies’ attempt to shake the Iranian nation’s resolve and sow discord among them by waging soft threats have failed to produce result.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in the capital Tehran today: ”The massive march of the nation on February 22nd showed that the enemy’s software threats have been ineffective against this country and this nation.”

He was pointing to the nation’s turnout in the marches and celebrations, which marked the 45th anniversary of Iran’s historic 1979 Islamic Revolution that overthrew the United States-backed tyrannical Pahlavi regime.

The leader further said that the software threats mean manipulating the public opinion. It means creating division and doubt in the fundamental principles of the Islamic Revolution. It also means creating doubt about steadfastness against the enemy, he added.

He said that by the God’s grace, however, they have not succeeded until today. The enemy’s temptations have not been able to shake the hearts of our people or deter our youths from their resolve and moving forward.

Citing the case of the extensive commemoration events that took place during the anniversary of the Revolution’s victory this year, Khamenei said that where else does such a thing exist in the world?

Today (Monday), marked the anniversary of an uprising by the people of East Azerbaijan’s capital Tabriz on February 18, 1978. The uprising had played a key role in the success of the revolution a year later.

Khamenei, during the speech, acknowledged that the Iranian people had some legitimate problems and expectations.
