Facebook Live introduces major change

21 February, 2025 09:54

All Facebook Live videos will only be available for 30 days from February 19.

According to the report of the Facebook news website, Meta has announced a significant change, which is important for those who are fond of live video streaming.

It added that now live videos will be stored on the social media network for only 30 days and then deleted. The videos were previously stored for an unlimited period of time.

“Most people watch Facebook Live videos in the first few weeks, so we’re updating the storage periods of those videos,” Meta explained.

Previously, Facebook Live videos were stored indefinitely, but Meta observed that very few users watch old live streams.

As a result of this change, the tech giant will phase out all Facebook Live videos older than 30 days in the next few months.

Before the videos are deleted, users will be sent a notification and they will be given 90 days so that they can save old live videos elsewhere.

Users will be able to download these videos to their devices, transfer them to cloud storage, or convert them to a reel format.
