Obtaining a driving license is essential for all citizens in Lahore before taking vehicles on the road, as failing to comply with this requirement can result in hefty fines.
The Traffic Police Department issues driving licenses for various vehicles to individuals who successfully pass both practical and theoretical tests conducted by the authorities.
In addition to passing these tests, applicants are required to pay a fee that varies depending on the type of license they are applying for.
Traffic police officers have the authority to request drivers’ licenses at any time for verification purposes. Those who fail to carry their driving license are at risk of receiving tickets or challans.
Updated Car and Jeep Driving License Fees
As of February 2025, the fee structure for a car or jeep driving license is as follows:
- Test Fee: Rs150
- One-Year License: Rs1,980
- Two-Year License: Rs3,330
- Three-Year License: Rs4,680
- Four-Year License: Rs6,030
- Five-Year License: Rs7,380
E-Driving License Available for Download
Residents of Punjab now have the convenience of downloading their driving license directly to their mobile phones. To access the e-license, users simply need to visit the official website at http://dlims.punjab.gov.pk.
On the homepage, they will find the e-license option. After entering their CNIC number and date of birth, users can easily download a PDF copy of their driving license.
