Why did Trump offer thanks to Pakistan?

US President Donald Trump has expressed gratitude to Pakistani government for nabbing the key terrorist involved in the 2021 Kabul airport bombing.

During his speech to a joint session of Congress, Trump said that three and a half years ago, Daesh terrorists killed 13 US service members and countless others in the Abbey Gate bombing,

Trumps’ speech was the longest by any president that lasted an hour and 49 minutes.

A wire service has reported that Pakistani authorities have arrested the Daesh commander based on intelligence provided by US’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
