John Wick chapter five in works

The fifth installment of the iconic John Wick is confirmed to be in works, however, involvement of Keanu Reeves in iconic hitman is still remains unclear.

Lionsgate executive Jenefer Brown, confirming the film, stated that the franchise will continue to grow with potential spin-offs, a TV series, and a video game.

“We are developing a fifth John Wick film… [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on bated breath waiting to find out,” he stated.

The upcoming spin-off film, Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas is set to release later this year with Reeves reprising his iconic role.

The film revolves around events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.

But the fourth installment of the movie concluded with little indication of Wick’s survival.

Reeves recently stated, “The character’s dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4,” adding that there were “no plans” for his return.

Producer Basil Iwanyk stated that physical toll of the films on Reeves, stating, “By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him.”

In a December 2024 interview, Reeves expressed uncertainty about returning, citing the demanding nature of the stunt work.

“You can never say never but my knees right now are saying, ‘You can’t do another John Wick,’” he said.
