Bendayan first ran for office in the 2015 federal election, contesting the Outremont riding but finishing second against Thomas Mulcair. However, she successfully secured the seat for the Liberal Party in a by-election on February 25, 2019, following Mulcair’s resignation. Since then, she has been re-elected multiple times.
Over the years, she has held key governmental roles, including:
- Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance
- Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance
