Awodiya, who claims to be an agent of the CIA America, leads the Covert Intelligent Agency (CIA) Nigeria, an organization dedicated to tackling corruption at the grassroots level across the country.
Fighting Corruption at the Grassroots
During a certificate and identity card presentation ceremony in Kaduna, Professor Awodiya emphasized that corruption is not limited to public service but is also deeply rooted in local communities. He urged Nigerians to adopt the American approach to corruption, viewing corrupt individuals as “animals” and treating them accordingly.
According to him, the goal of his organization is to transform Nigeria into a nation of integrity, similar to the United States.
Government Support and High-Profile Petitions
Professor Awodiya stated that his organization began its work after receiving approval from former President Muhammadu Buhari, allowing them to work in collaboration with the EFCC and ICPC.
Since its inception, the organization has played a key role in petitioning and exposing corrupt officials, leading to the imprisonment of several former governors. Among their notable actions:
Filing a petition against former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onoghen, leading to his removal.
Petitioning 16 high-profile individuals involved in corruption, significantly contributing to anti-corruption efforts.
A Nationwide Mission Against Corruption
Awodiya reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating corruption at all levels of Nigerian society. While agencies like the EFCC focus on public servants, his team targets grassroots corruption, including market leaders, transport operators, and local institution heads.
“We will fight at the grassroots to ensure Nigeria becomes clean,” he declared.
This initiative marks a significant step in Nigeria’s anti-corruption battle, as efforts continue to hold officials and citizens accountable for corrupt practices.
