Trump’s controversial policies, US scientists consider leaving country

Three-quarters of scientists surveyed expressed their desire to leave the United States and move to Europe or Canada because of cuts in the Trump administration’s scientific research budget.

The survey, published in the journal Nature, revealed that 75.3 per cent of the scientists who responded to the survey are considering leaving the country, while 24.7 per cent are not.

Scientists, especially those who are younger and early in their careers, are considering leaving the United States more than older scientists because of Trump’s controversial policies.
