Israeli minister threatens to block even a single grain of wheat into Gaza

Israel is bent on starving the helpless Palestinians who have somehow survived the brutal bombing.
Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has threatened not to allow a grain of wheat to enter the Gaza Strip.
“Until Hamas releases our soldiers and hostages, we will not allow food and assistance to the people of Gaza,” he said.
The Israeli finance minister added that not a grain of wheat would go to Gaza until the hostages were released.
The minister’s controversial and hateful remarks come at a time when Gaza is facing a severe humanitarian crisis and millions of Palestinians are suffering from hunger, thirst and shortage of medicines.
The international community and human rights organizations reacted sharply to this threatening statement, saying that the use of food as a weapon of war is a serious violation of human rights.
Palestinian officials called the controversial statement of the Israeli finance minister “cruel and inhuman” and called on the international community to intervene immediately.
According to the United Nations, there is a drought-like situation in Gaza. More than 70 per cent of the population faces food shortages on a daily basis and hospitals have run out of basic medical facilities.
